Pitcher Plant Pitcher Plants come from North America. Most grow very showy and upright tubes of which the bugs crawl down and get stuck and drowned in the enzymes produced by the plant. Some plants in this group do not grow tall, but rather lay down along the ground.

Sarracenia 'Dixie Lace' Sarracenia 'Dixie Lace' is a nice hybrid. The pitchers reach about 10" long and the plant generally forms clumps fairly quickly giving it a neat look. Sarracenia alata Sarracenia alata stands somewhat alone in the sea of Sarracenia as it typically has no special colors to it. the pitchers are green/yellow and so are the flowers. The lid is somewhat small when compared to other Sarracenia. Why add this plant to your collection? Well, it stands out very well in that sea of very red-colored Sarracenia!
